How Affiliate Relationships Affect Our Content
We take the conflict of interest created by affiliate commissions seriously. Our approach:
- We research before recommending. We evaluate products based on specifications, verified performance data (CADR ratings, filter quality, noise levels), and user experience—not commission rates.
- We recommend what we'd actually buy. If a product doesn't meet our standards, we don't recommend it regardless of commission opportunity.
- We actively warn against harmful products. Ozone generators are frequently marketed as premium air purifiers and could generate significant commissions. We warn against them on every relevant page because they are harmful, period.
- We publish "what we don't recommend" sections. Telling you what to avoid is part of our value—even when what we're warning against would be profitable to promote.
- We limit our recommendations. Rather than a "top 50 air purifiers" list (maximizing click opportunities), we recommend 3 options per category. This is better for readers and costs us affiliate revenue.
